Vinegar Joe was a British outfit that played a rock/R&B hybrid, generally considered Britain’s answer to the Allman Bros, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Marshall Tucker Band. Known as the group that gave international star Robert Palmer its start, Vinegar Joe released three studio albums that range from good to excellent. Their high energy, marathon live shows increased the acclaim of this long lost artist from the classic rock period.
Epitaph was a German group that featured two Brits and English vocals. A heavy metal pioneer, “Outside the Law” became a collector’s item in the US on the strength of powerful vocals and potent dual-guitar attack. The band is still around, releasing new material and frequently touring Europe, yet their early ’70’s heavy rock albums are more popular now than when they first appeared.
